Data Recovery Services

Data Recovery Services
the companies that provide them. This Website is simply a handy guide to the various companies offering data recovery services, hard drive repair, backup software and computer forensics.

Data recovery basically means taking files that were once damaged or corrupted due to either natural disasters, virus attacks, user errors, software errors or hardware failures and restoring or retrieving the data in those files. As the instances of hacking and virus cases escalate, so will the number of people needing help with their data.

The availability of companies offering recovery services and software spans a wide range from large firms to small shops and from totally dedicated shops to firms offering a broad array of computer-related products and services. One good thing to remember — many of these companies will only charge you if they are successful in recovering some data. If they can't help you with your data problem, you usually don't have to pay.

In most cases, the majority of the data is recoverable, so don't automatically assume that your data can't be recovered. The ballpark average percentage of successful retrievals is in the 80-90% range.
And if you've been told that your data is unretrievable, we suggest you get a second opinion from another service just to make sure.

How does the process often work? First, you contact a service. Usually they advise you how to send them your media. Once they receive it, they evaluate it as to how much data can be recovered. They will then give you a price quote and an idea of the data that is recoverable. Some companies have fixed prices per type of media or size of job; Other companies cost out each job individually. You then either approve of the work order and have the work done, or you politely decline their offer and have the media returned to you.

Mesothelioma, more precisely malignant mesothelioma, is a rare form of cancer that develops from the protective lining that covers many of the body's internal organs, the mesothelium. It is usually caused by exposure to asbestos.[1]
Its most common site is the pleura (outer lining of the lungs and internal chest wall), but it may also occur in the peritoneum (the lining of the abdominal cavity), the heart,[2] the pericardium (a sac that surrounds the heart) or tunica vaginalis.
Most people who develop mesothelioma have worked on jobs where they inhaled asbestos particles, or they have been exposed to asbestos dust and fiber in other ways. It has also been suggested that washing the clothes of a family member who worked with asbestos can put a person at risk for developing mesothelioma.[3] Unlike lung cancer, there is no association between mesothelioma and smoking, but smoking greatly increases the risk of other asbestos-induced cancers.[4] Compensation via asbestos funds or lawsuits is an important issue in mesothelioma (see asbestos and the law).
The symptoms of mesothelioma include shortness of breath due to pleural effusion (fluid between the lung and the chest wall) or chest wall pain, and general symptoms such as weight loss. The diagnosis may be suspected with chest X-ray and CT scan, and is confirmed with a biopsy (tissue sample) and microscopic examination. A thoracoscopy (inserting a tube with a camera into the chest) can be used to take biopsies. It allows the introduction of substances such as talc to obliterate the pleural space (called pleurodesis), which prevents more fluid from accumulating and pressing on the lung. Despite treatment with chemotherapy, radiation therapy or sometimes surgery, the disease carries a poor prognosis. Research about screening tests for the early detection of mesothelioma is ongoing.

How To Easily Find the Best Adsense Format For Your WebSite

Which adsense format is the best for my website ? Which color scheme should i use to get maximum CTR for adsense ads? Does the 336×280 ad format or the 330×250 rectangle ad format works the best? What can i do to get maximum Click Thru Ratio for my adsense ads?
Google Adsense Simultaneously How To Easily Find the Best Adsense Format For Your WebSiteThese are the questions that runs through every webmasters mind when they are concerned about the money from adsense. Most of the new adsense publishers finds it difficult at the initial stage selecting the best adsense format that works for their website. Professional adsense publishers or webmasters advice to keep on experimenting with different adsense formats in your website. But, this takes a lot of time and effort. So, how about testing different adsense formats in your website at the same location simultaneously but randomly? Yes that’s what the professionals do. It seems quite logical too. If you didn’t get the point correctly, then take a look at this example.
You feel that a 728×90 adsense ad format will generate more revenue than a 468×60 banner ad unit you are currently using. So to find it you need to test the leaderboard 728 x 90 adsense format separately. But this can’t be the case some times using the 728 x 90 ad format can affect your earnings badly. But there is a way to display the two ad units, showing each 50% of the time. This is made possible by using a simple javascript.  The random function in javascript will help you to easily alternate between your two ad formats. The method is being called A/B testing.
from the adsense blog
Keep in mind that generally, modifying your ad code is against AdSense program policies. However, we’ve checked with our policy folks and they’ve given our publishers permission to modify the code for use with this specific script for the purposes of A/B testing. Please be aware that the AdSense team isn’t able to provide any support or troubleshooting help for this script or this sort of testing.
So lets start.

Testing Different Adsense Ad Formats at Same Location by Displaying Them Randomly

  • Create Two Custom Adsense Channels. Name them accordingly as per your needs. In this case its 728 x 90 and 468 x 60 but you can use any other formats too like 336 x 280 and 300 x 250 and so on.
  • Now you need to setup the ad formats similarly. What i meant is, when the final code is obtained only google_ad_channel, google_ad_width, google_ad_height and google_ad_format should only be the variables. Every thing else like Title, Color, Font etc should be same, now that would be more logical to test between the two formats simultaneously. However, its not mandatory that you should only use similar looks for the two formats.
  • Now we are going to play with the java script code. Here we are mixing up the to different adsense codes so that each of them will be displayed 50% of the time. And it total both counts to 100% in overall. Here is a code shown as example.
      <script type="text/javascript">
       var google_ads = Math.random();
          if (google_ads < .5){
            google_ad_channel = "468x60Channel";google_ad_width = 468;
            google_ad_height = 60;google_ad_format = "468x60_as";
          } else {
            google_ad_channel = "728x90Channel";google_ad_width = 728;
            google_ad_height = 90;google_ad_format = "728x90_as";
          }
            google_ad_client = "pub-xxx";google_ad_type = "text_image";
            google_color_border = "FFFFFF";google_color_bg = "FFFFFF";
            google_color_link = "0000FF";google_color_text = "000000";
            google_color_url = "0000FF";
      </script>
      <script type="text/javascript"
            src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js">
      </script>
  • Check out the performance of the two ad formats for a week or two to determine which of the adsense format gives you the best CTR, eCPM. Some times the 336 x 250 ad unit give you more clicks than the 300 x 280. It depends.
The next time after this experiment you can try two formats with a different color format, different font (change fonts in adsense ads), font size etc.

Google AdSense Publishers Told to Update Privacy Policies on Their Blogs and Websites

Google launched a new behavioral advertising program (which Google calls "interest-based ads") this month, which tracks people's behaviors online in order to serve relevant ads to them through Google AdSense. As such, Google sent an email to AdSense publishers today stating that they must update the privacy policies on their sites where these ads will automatically be displayed to tell people that their behaviors are being tracked.

That means, if you show Google AdSense ads on your blog, you need to create or update your blog's privacy policy so you don't get in trouble when these ads begin to display, or you have to change your Google AdSense account settings to opt-out of showing behavior-based ads on your blog. Read the official announcement on the Google AdSense blog where you can get more details.
And you can follow the link for more information about Google's behavioral-ads from an article on the BBC website

Click the preview button and check your blog. If installed correctly, then must be appear in your right side. But, if didn't appear check your post, did they have labels? If not just give they a label so the blogumulus will appear. If your blogumulus didn't fit into your blog try to customize them by edit the height, width, background colors, and font size by following this instructions :

In this default installation, Blogumus includes the following preset variables:

  • Width is set to 240px
  • Height is set to 300px;
  • Background color is white
  • Test color is grey
  • Font size is "12"
If you would prefer to make your widget wider, shorter, change the color scheme, etc, you will need to do this by editing various parts of the code. I'll go through these options in the order they appear in the widget code. Editing width and height The variables for width and height are found in this line of the script:

var so = new SWFObject("http://halotemplates.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-cumulus-example/tagcloud.swf", "tagcloud", "240", "300", "7", "#ffffff");
The width (currently 240) is highlighted in red, while the height (300px default) is highlighted in blue. These numerical values specify the width and height in pixels, so you can alter these of you prefer. Editing background color You can change the background color from white to any other color by altering the hex value in the same line:

var so = new SWFObject("http://halotemplates.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-cumulus-example/tagcloud.swf", "tagcloud", "240", "300", "7", "#ffffff");

PTC (Paid to Click)

In this kind of program, you must click the ads and wait about 30 seconds and then your account will be credited by some cents. Usually, one ad worth $0.01 and this is not profitable, but you can use the referral system. For every person you have referred, you will get about $0.01 and if the person clicks one ad, you will get about 10% of their earnings. If you are a blogger, then you may use your blog as a promotion media for your referral link.

Paid Survey

All you must to do is signing up and wait for them to contact you and filled up some question and then you will get about $5-$20 for a single survey. With this method, I don't think it will be profitable. BUT, I know how to solve this problem, all you must to do sign up for a hundred or more programs. At least, everyday you will get one survey and that means you will get $5-$20 everyday.

2.  The Long (or Longest) Comment
If this kind of comment combined with the number 1, it will be absolutely perfect because there is no reason for readers to not see it. Top 5 AdSense tips

Top 15 AdSense tips

AdSense Tip #1: Find your keywords

Before serving ads on a web page, check its keyword density. A free and advanced tool for finding the most prominent keywords in a page can be found here: SEO Density Analyzer. Copy the most important keywords to a text file ([web page name]-adsense-keywords.txt).

AdSense Tip #2: Improve your keywords

Get keyword suggestions from Overture Search Inventory and from Google AdWords Sandbox. Get new keywords that can help you improve your ad relevance. Enter the keywords from [web page name]-adsense-keywords.txt and save the suggestions to [web page name]-adsense-suggestions.txt.

AdSense Tip #3: Keep your website focused on a theme

Use the keyword suggestions to enhance your web pages and to build theme-based content. And also try to get your keywords into the anchor text of your incoming links as much as possible. Don't forget that Google AdSense is keyword-targeted advertising: Google AdSense bases its advert topics on your websites content, this means that content-rich websites of a popular topic should attract a large amount of ads.

AdSense Tip #4: Write a new page every day

One of the best tips is to add a new page to your web site every day. The more content you have, the more visitors you will get. Put an Adsense unit on each and every content page of your site. But where? You will find more about that from the next AdSense tips.

AdSense Tip #5: Choose the right AdSense format

Wider formats are successful because the ads are compact, easy to read and are complementary to the content. The top three AdSense formats are:
  1. 336x280 large rectangle
  2. 300x250 medium rectangle
  3. 160x600 wide skyscraper

Another successful format is the 468x15 horizontal ad links, that can be placed under your navigation bar.

How To Attract Adsense Brand Advertisers by Ads Above the Fold

It is a well known fact that Adsense ads perform the best when placed above the fold. “Above the fold” refers to the exact area of the screen which is visible to the user when the page has finished loading.
The area of your website or blog which gets the maximum focus is “Above the fold”. Hence, it’s common sense that advertisers would prefer sites who place ads above the fold as compared to sites who hide ads in the corners or sidebars.

Who are Brand Advertisers and Direct Advertisers?

There are two type of advertisers - Brand advertisers and Direct advertisers.
Direct advertisers look for clicks and conversions and they usually target CPC campaigns. Say Mr X owns a site about ‘Used cars’ and Mr Y is a “Direct advertiser”. Mr Y would like to place CPC advertisements in Mr X’s site and would be more interested in clicks, conversions and the Adwords campaign altogether.
Brand advertisers would focus on promoting their product and raise self awareness. They would target image ads that supports rich media. In the above example, if Mr Y had been a direct advertiser, he would like to place an image ad about his upcoming auction of used cars, you get the idea.

So What’s the Idea all about

Since brand advertisers are trying to raise awareness about their product, they are obviously selective on the type of sites where their ads are shown. Not only that, they are also concerned with the position their ads are shown on your site.
Now coming back to “Above the Fold” concept. Since Brand advertisers want visibility, they would prefer sites that have the following criteria and placements of ad units:
  • Content is unique, good and the site should have a targeted audience.
  • Has a large reader base – means more pageviews and impressions.
  • Ad unit is placed above the fold for greater visibility.

How to optimize Your Ad unit Placements for Brand Advertisers

If you want to optimize your site for Brand advertisers, here are a few things you should know:
1. Use Adsense placement targeting
Assign unique channels to the ad units you are targeting for the Brand advertisers. Then login to your Adsense account, go to channels and click “Edit channel”. Select the checkbox “Show this channel to advertisers as an ad placement”.
adsense channel targeting
Enter a custom description of your site and a brief description regarding the placement position of the channel. Believe me, this works.
2. Place ad units above the fold targeted to attract “Brand Advertisers”
Place at least one ad unit above the fold. Then use Adsense placement targeting and attract advertisers to show ads on that channel. The placement targeting would not work out if you  hide the ads in the bottom of your blog template.
3. Switch to image ads on high pageview pages
Some pages of your site have high pageviews e.g the homepage or may be the landing page you created for one of your products. Using an image ad above the fold makes sense and appeals to the brand advertisers, as described earlier in the article.
4. Don’t be shy showcasing ads
Don’t hide advertisements in the corner or footer of your blog template. Some of the best placement positions are: under the title of your post, header, top of sidebar etc. Even big brands like Techcrunch have a big leaderboard in the site header, so why should you feel shy showing the ads?Your browser may not support display of this image.
Ads above fold
If the visitor is genuinely interested on the content of the landing page, the advertisements would appear as related links or services. So there is nothing called as “Annoying Factor”. Dump that idea.
5. Make your Site Advertisement Friendly
While you make efforts to optimize your site for visitors, you should also make life easy for the advertisers. Reserve highly focused regions for the advertisements and remove unnecessary elements from your blog template. As for example, you may want to move the email subscription box, which is placed in the header of your site to the sidebar. Then use a 468 X 70 or 728 X 90 advertisement block in the header and apply “Image ads” for that ad unit.
These are a few techniques which you can use to attract “Brand Advertisers” on your site. Don’t think that you will get the results in a couple of days. It takes some time to build trust among the advertisers and you will gradually see the wheel rolling.
Have you optimized your site for Brand advertisers? Would love to hear your ideas in the comments section.

Google AdSense Optimization Tips

1. Don’t Feel Shy – If you are seriously willing to monetize your website with AdSense, make sure that you place advertisements in prominent locations where visitors will notice the ads.

2. The best performing ad units for AdSense are 160×600, 336×280 and 300×250. For text only ads, you should go with the 336×380 format but in all other situations, 300×250 may be a better format since it is most popular among advertisers and also supports rich media. 160×600 can easily fit in the sidebar of your blog.
3. Web visitors have a very short attention span and majority of them may simply leave after a quick glance. Their eyes follow a F pattern so you can get good results if the Google ads are placed in the areas colored red on the heat map. Sidebars and leaderboards at the top are often ignored.
4. Depending upon the layout of your website, you should consider placing the first unit somewhere in the middle of the page and above the fold.
5. Even kids would know that AdSense works best if there are no borders and that the background color of the ads matches with the background of the page. That may not always be true and sometimes colored backgrounds (like light yellow or very light grey) can convert better – look at the top AdWords unit on the Google search page.
6. If you have a website with a dark theme (like a black background), experiment using a contrast color scheme for Google ads.
7. While it is a good idea to use section targeting around the main content, you should skip adding the section targeting tags for the comment section in your blog because the comments may not exactly convey what the page is all about. The aim is to increase the relevance of Google Ads.
8. Site visitors generally look for a search button at the top left region. Use the word "search" in the submit button else some visitors may not notice them. AdSense doesn’t allow publishers to pre-populate search boxes with keywords. Always use a second search box at the bottom of your pages and if possible, host site search on a separate sub-domain (e.g., search.labnol.org/) as regular readers can easily remember that address.
9. I recommend using only text ads for the first Google Ad unit but place another 300×250 unit in the sidebar (or somewhere below the fold) – these generally serve CPM based ads and will therefore help you monetize visits from places like Digg and StumbleUpon even when the bounce rate is very very high.
The CPM of ad units will decrease as you come the page but that may not be the case with link units – they are small, text based, can fit in even small locations and perform brilliant.
10. These are recommended ad placements for a website depending upon the design (two-column or three-column). If you write long articles, try fitting an ad unit somewhere in the middle of the article or at the bottom because when readers are done with reading, they’ll probably look for more resources or related information.
11. Once your new ad placement is live, make sure you test the AdSense layout with help of your grandma or subscribe to a professional mouse tracking service like CrazyEgg to know how people interact / navigate your content.
12. Sometimes traffic flowing in from Image search engines can earn you more AdSense Revenue than regular web traffic. So upload good quality images and use text captions with alt tags to make sure that blog images rank good in Image Search results.
13. Flickr is another great source of traffic (especially from Yahoo!) and you may also use it to indirectly improve your organic rankings.
14. You can also increase relevance of Google Ads on your site by linking to authority websites using descriptive anchor text. This will also help improve your organic ranks since outgoing links and citations carry weight in the eyes of the search engine who may then consider you as an authority for that niche.
15. Look for variations in Google Analytics – AdSense reports. If you are seeing impressions for a page but no CTR or CPM, chances are that the page may be serving PSAs or the ads aren’t relevant enough. You may also use the AdSense Sandbox to figure out if visitors from other countries are unable to see ads on some page that have low (or zero) CPM.
Also see: How to Enable Analytics in AdSense
16. Placement targeting is an excellent opportunity for you to market your site to potential AdWords advertisers. Therefore always make it a practice to use descriptive text when describing your AdSense channels.
17. Archives, Tags, Category or Author pages in a blog aren’t good landing pages and are hard to monetize as well. Redirect their Google juice to single post page using NOINDEX, FOLLOW tags.
18. Reward your regular visitors (I call them influences) with ad-free content. AdSense in feeds is not a loved option either so you may have use the feed footer to find spammers & feed scrappers.
19. If you run a multi-author blog, you can very easily implement AdSense Revenue sharing through channels. Assign a separate channel to each other and use that number for his or her blog posts.
20. AdSense Premium sites like CNN, Mahalo, New York Times, About.com, etc. generally have dedicated AdSense account managers to help them optimize their Google ad units. You can study their layouts and probably implement some of the techniques in your own blog(s).
Another great resource are these official Case Studies discussed on the AdSense blog. Folks like Jensense, Problogger & Barry Schwartz are also pretty good at spotting trends early and often. I also recommend joining the AdSense forums at Webmaster World – especially follow conversations of "Preferred" or "Senior Members" as they generally have lot of experience.
With Google AdSense, one should never feel complacent because there’s always a chance to improve earnings provided you are willing to experiment. The software theory – "If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it" doesn’t really apply here.
